Samuel Ward Academy celebrates rise in A-level results 

Students at Samuel Ward Academy have been celebrating a rise in the school’s A-level results.
The Haverhill school achieved an overall pass rate of 98% with 80% grades A*-C equivalent – an increase on the 73% a year ago.
Andy Hunter, newly recruited headteacher of Samuel Ward Academy, said: “All at the school are very proud of the achievements, commitment and efforts of the students who I know already were ably supported by dedicated staff. 
“I am excited to be joining a sixth form on the up at the same time the school will benefit from new buildings and upgraded sixth form facilities.”
Tim Coulson, chief executive of the Unity Schools Partnership of which the academy is a founder member, added: “I would like to congratulate all students, staff, parents and the school community for playing their part in these successful results. 
“We wish the young people every success as they go onto the next stage of their lives.”
Kevin Geall, head of sixth form, at Samuel Ward Academy, said: “It is an incredibly exciting time for the sixth form. With our current Year 12 students on course to excel, I expect more record-breaking student achievement in the very near future."
