Mathematics

GCSE Mathematics consolidates and builds upon concepts introduced in Key Stage 3.

In addition to exploring number; algebra; shape; space and measures; and data handling in more depth, the Key Stage 4 scheme of work aims to develop further pupils problem-solving skills.

The department aims to foster a good understanding of Mathematics and a thorough knowledge of the facts and processes that underpin the subject. Pupils learn to express challenging problems in mathematical terms and then to apply concepts and skills to solving them.
