Samuel Ward Academy view careers guidance and inspiration as integral to the work throughout the school. Our vision is to develop a learning community that broadens horizons and raises aspirations through meaningful and powerful links and contact with employers and local businesses. Learners will develop and apply a range of employability skills throughout their time in school and sixth form and develop knowledge and research skills to ensure future pathways are fully informed and allow a clear sense of direction. See our list of careers champions which is available in the attachments section.
The impact of the career programme offered at Samuel Ward Academy is measured and assessed through the Government’s standard Gatsby Benchmark process which is reviewed every 3 months. See our figures in comparison to the National average standard in the fourth slide of the above presentation.
If you have a question or queries regards the careers programme at Samuel Ward Academy or would like to arrange a careers interview please contact our Careers Lead or Careers Practitioner, alternatively telephone us on 01440 761511.
We are always seeking new organisations and employers to support the delivery of our Careers and Aspirations programme, this includes regular events such as Careers Fairs, Mock Interviews, Speed Networking sessions as well as more personal workshops and discussions around your career pathway and specialist field of expertise, please email us if you are interested.
