We are delighted to announce that our sixth form students have been equipped with brand new iPads to aid their studying and learning.
Students today began getting used to digital studying in the classroom with the iPads given to them for working in both the school and at home.
Under the ‘Unity Sixth’ umbrella, sixth form students at HC6F, St Edward’s Academy in Romford, Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard and Felixstowe School will also benefit from a shared curriculum including presentation and lectures given by renowned speakers from business, politics and the arts.
Pete Wilson, head of sixth form, said: “We have had a record number of applications to the sixth form this year .
“We have never had so much interest from students at other schools and we are delighted that they will be benefitting from a shared curriculum and resources as part of Unity Sixth.”
We are looking forward to welcoming Year 6 pupils and their families at our Samuel Ward Academy Open Evening on Thursday 17th October.
You will get a chance to look round the school, speak to staff members and view our curriculum during the evening, which runs from 5pm to 7.30pm.
Headteacher Tom Johnston will also be giving two talks to prospective students and families – at 5pm and then again at 6pm in the Drama Studio.
Samuel Ward Academy is a warm, welcoming school, at the heart of our community, committed to creating rich and fulfilling futures for each child.
We ensure that our students aspire to be their very best, tackle challenges bravely and work together with compassion to build an inclusive community in which each individual can flourish.
These three values are central to all that we do, underpinned by our well planned academic and wider curriculum alongside excellent pastoral care, so that students can develop to reach their full potential, make a positive contribution to society and are given excellent foundations to lead enriching and interesting lives.
