Students at Samuel Ward Academy in Haverhill were celebrating a positive set of GCSE results.

Headteacher Tom Johnston said it was a privilege to see the hard work of students pay off.

He added: “Our aim is for each student to flourish, not just academically, but also as a well-rounded young person ready to take on their next challenge.

“These results represent a range of personal successes and tell a story of perseverance and continued optimism. My thanks go to the parents and teachers who have supported the students at every step along their school journeys.

“It has been a real pleasure to see so many students happy with their results and we wish them all the best as they embark on further study and apprenticeships.”

One of the school’s notable high achievers was Samuel Chilton who was awarded seven GCSE grades at grade 9 including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Photography and two at grade 8.
