I am writing to outline our plan for bus students and enrichment activities during period 6, 2.50pm – 3.40pm, on Tuesdays and Thursday next academic year. Under normal circumstances we would have arranged a series of clubs and activities for students to sign up for which would start in the first week back and run for the entire term. We have not been in a position to plan comprehensively or accurately given the changing guidelines so instead we have made alternative arrangements for the first half term.
Any student who gets the bus home on Tuesday and Thursday at 3.40pm will need to remain in school and will be placed in supervised study unless you opt out using the link below. These sessions will be in computer rooms where possible and students will be placed together in year groups. Students will be able to utilise this time to complete homework and wider reading but will need to take responsibility for having the resources they need.
Please fill in the form below by Tuesday 1 September indicating whether
- Your child is a bus student and wishes to be placed in supervised study every Tuesday and Thursday period 6 for the first half term
- Your child is a bus student and you are able to make alternative arrangements for them to be picked up at 2.50pm every Tuesday and Thursday for the first half term
- Your child is a bus student and you give them permission to leave site at 2.50pm and return in time for the bus at 3.40pm
- Your child is a non-bus student and wishes to remain in school for supervised study during the first half term every Tuesday and Thursday during period 6
If your child is not a bus student and does not wish to attend supervised study then no action is required.
Upon our return in September we will begin the process of organising and advertising enrichment and extra-curricular activities which we hope will be able to start in November straight after half term. These opportunities will be open to all students. We will also communicate regarding revision sessions for year 11 and 13 students.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me and I wish you and your family a safe and restful summer.
